Descrizione:LMP744 is a phosphodiesterase inhibitor that has been shown to be cytotoxic in vitro. It is also a pro-apoptotic protein, which leads to the induction of apoptosis by binding to the mitochondrial membrane and inhibiting the release of cytochrome C. LMP744 acts as an intercalating agent and binds to dna, preventing transcription and replication. This drug also inhibits DNA synthesis and is homologous with other drugs that are being developed for cancer treatment. A significant cytotoxicity was observed in human tumor cells, but not in normal cells, at concentrations of 10 μM or less. The terminal half-life of LMP744 was 15 hours when administered intravenously in rats. The drug exhibits high affinity for methoxy groups, which may be due to its quinoline structure.
