This agent stabilizes the kidney cortex and protects against chronic kidney disease in a dose-dependent manner. TP0463518 has been shown to increase erythropoiesis and reduce hemoglobinuria in nephrectomized rats, as well as inhibiting renal injury caused by ischemia/reperfusion in a rat model.TP0463518 can be used to treat patients with chronic kidney disease, such as those with polycystic kidney disease or acute renal failure. It also has potential applications for patients undergoing hemodialysis or on peritoneal dialysis.
