2-Propylimidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH2=C(CH3)CO2H. It is a colorless solid that has been found to have inhibitory activity against locomotor activity in mice. 2-Propylimidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid has also been shown to have anticancer properties. The fluorescence properties of this compound are due to the presence of two quinoid moieties, which can be excited by light at 350 nm and emit light at 500 nm.
