Descrizione:Cymbalta is a serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) used for the treatment of major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, and fibromyalgia. Cymbalta blocks the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine by inhibiting their respective transporter proteins. This leads to increased concentrations of these neurotransmitters in the synaptic cleft to increase mood and reduce pain. Cymbalta is also used for the management of chronic musculoskeletal pain and as an adjunctive therapy for partial onset seizures. It has been shown to be effective in treating rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, chronic low back pain, acute pain from migraine headaches, and generalised anxiety disorder. Cymbalta is also approved for use in children with depression or obsessive-compulsive disorder who are at least seven years old.
