Descrizione:(R)-Anabasine is a chiral compound that has been used for the production of other compounds. It is also used as a chemical intermediate in the synthesis of many drugs, including anesthetics and antibiotics. The recovery and purification of (R)-anabasine from tobacco smoke can be difficult due to its high solubility in water. The matrix effect can be mitigated by using an appropriate solvent such as chloroform or dichloromethane. A number of modifications have been made to increase the stability, including modification at the 3-position with an alkyl group, which produces a bifunctional molecule with two amines. This molecule can catalyze reactions involving homoallylamines.
