Descrizione:2-(4-formylphenyl)acetic acid is a synthetic chemical compound with anticancer properties. It has been shown to inhibit proliferation of human cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. The mechanism of action is not yet known, but it has been hypothesized that 2-(4-formylphenyl)acetic acid may act as a copper complex or by binding to amide groups on the surface of cancer cells. This study also showed that this compound can activate toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4). 2-(4-formylphenyl)acetic acid has also been shown to inhibit the uptake of biphosphates by cells, which may be due to its methoxy groups.
