It has been shown to interact with solid phase synthesis and synthetic methods for evaluation of epoxide hydroxylation reactions. This compound was synthesized using fmoc-gly-oh as the protecting group, which is then removed by transition metal catalyzed ligand exchange. 2-[(9H-fluoren-9-yl)methoxy]carbonylamino]-3-(thiophen-2-yl)propanoic acid can be used in the treatment of inflammatory conditions such as asthma or arthritis.
