TRPC1 is a calcium-activated potassium channel that is activated by membrane depolarization and has been implicated in the regulation of cellular proliferation and differentiation. LY285434 was shown to inhibit TRPC1 at low nanomolar concentrations and also showed no effects on other ion channels tested including TRPC6, TRPM2, TRPV4, or TREK-1. LY285434 binds to the N-terminus of TRPC1 with high affinity and specificity.
