Descrizione:Tyrphostin A9 is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that binds to the ATP-binding site of the enzyme, thereby blocking its activity. Tyrphostin A9 inhibits mitochondrial functions and induces apoptosis via caspase activation. This drug has shown efficacy in animal models of malignant brain tumors, as well as cardiomyopathy, but not in models of acute myeloid leukemia. Tyrphostin A9 has also been shown to inhibit the phosphorylation of several proteins, including protein kinase C (PKC) and protein serine/threonine kinases (PSK). The biochemical properties and analytical methods for tyrphostin A9 have been described by a number of groups.
