Descrizione:Apremilast is a drug product that belongs to the class of drugs called phosphodiesterase 4 inhibitors. It acts by inhibiting the enzyme phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) and therefore blocks the degradation of specific signaling molecules, such as cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). Apremilast has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in preclinical studies and is being developed for the treatment of inflammatory diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis. Apremilast is not active against gram-positive bacteria or some other types of bacteria. Apremilast has been shown to have a low potential for drug interactions with other drugs metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes.
