Descrizione:Minocromil is a fatty acid that is used in pharmaceutical dosages as an anti-inflammatory. It binds to the leukotriene receptor, which is found on the surface of cells and prevents the release of substances that cause inflammation. Minocromil also has a carbonic anhydrase inhibitory effect and is used to treat bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The drug's efficacy is increased by using a polymeric matrix with a high concentration of minocromil particles that are less than 5 microns in diameter. This particle size leads to more effective delivery of minocromil to the lungs because it can be inhaled deeply into the lower airways where it can reach bronchial tissue.Minocromil has been shown to inhibit the production of leukotrienes, which are mediators of inflammation and allergic reactions, by blocking their receptors in lung tissue.
