Descrizione:Clothianidin is a neonicotinoid insecticide that inhibits the acetylcholinesterase enzyme, which is responsible for the breakdown of acetylcholine, thereby preventing nerve impulses. Clothianidin has been shown to be highly toxic to honeybees, with levels of toxicity similar to those of imidacloprid. Clothianidin has also been shown to accumulate in soil and water at high concentrations, with potential adverse effects on the environment. Clothianidin is applied as an insecticide to crops and lawns in order to control pests such as aphids, leafhoppers, tree borers, thrips, and whiteflies. The toxicity of this pesticide can be reduced by co-application with other pesticides or by diluting it in water before use.
