Descrizione:4BP-TQS is an allosteric activator of the mitochondrial superoxide dismutase (MnSOD). MnSOD is a key enzyme in the mitochondria that converts the toxic superoxide radical to hydrogen peroxide and molecular oxygen. This drug has been shown to inhibit pain in animal models by binding to acetylcholine receptors and preventing the release of neurotransmitters. It also binds to the α7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, which may be responsible for its anti-inflammatory effects. 4BP-TQS has been shown to have a high affinity for agonist binding sites on IL-10, suggesting it may be an effective agent against inflammatory cytokines.
