It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. NVP-BVU972 binds to the ATP binding site of the kinase domain and inhibits protein synthesis by preventing phosphorylation of downstream substrates. This drug also has a pharmacokinetic profile that is not affected by renal or hepatic dysfunction. NVP-BVU972 is currently being evaluated as a predictive biomarker for cancer treatment response.
