Descrizione:
5,7-Dibromoquinolin-8-amine is a metal chelator that can be used for the treatment of parasites. It is an active form of 5,7-dibromoquinolin and has been shown to have high sensitivity against promastigotes and amastigotes. The drug has also been shown to inhibit nitrate reductase activity in Leishmania donovani after binding to the parasite's ferrous ion. The drug may act by forming a complex with copper ions, which prevents the production of ATP.
