Descrizione:4-Methyl-2-phenylthiazole-5-carboxylic acid hydrazide is a potent anticancer agent. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells through inhibition of DNA synthesis and protein synthesis, as well as by inducing apoptosis. 4-Methyl-2-phenylthiazole-5-carboxylic acid hydrazide binds to the active site of DNA gyrase, an enzyme that maintains the integrity of bacterial DNA. This binding prevents the formation of an antibiotic-inhibitor complex with the enzyme cell wall synthesis that is required for cell wall biosynthesis, inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division. The antitumor activity was found to be mediated through interactions with pharmacological targets such as butanamide, phenacyl, dioxane, and chlorides.
