Polymyxin B nonapeptide is a polymyxin antibiotic that is effective against Gram-negative bacteria. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of wild-type strains of Escherichia coli and Salmonella enterica in laboratory tests, as well as cancer tissues. Polymyxin B nonapeptide binds to the il-2 receptor on human cells and inhibits the activation of interleukin 2, which is an important immune response regulator. The drug also has biocompatible properties and does not cause any significant physiological effects or alterations in redox potentials when injected into humans. This antibiotic has a phase transition temperature of 56°C and can be used for treating tissue infections caused by bacteria with a high resistance to antibiotics.
