Descrizione:3-Deazaadenosine is a nucleoside that has been shown to have antimicrobial properties. It has been shown to reduce the mitochondrial membrane potential and inhibit the growth of bacteria in an experimental model of infection. 3-Deazaadenosine also has clinical relevance as it can be used to treat atherosclerotic lesions and liver diseases by reducing MMP-9 activity and glomerular filtration rate, respectively. 3-Deazaadenosine binds dna at high affinity and inhibits polymerase chain reaction (PCR) activity in vitro. 3-Deazaadenosine also inhibits hl-60 cells proliferation and induces significant cytotoxicity in these cells.
