Cyclosulfamuron is a carbamate herbicide that inhibits the synthesis of fatty acids, which are important for plant growth. It is used as an analytical method to determine the amount of lipid in plant tissue. Cyclosulfamuron has been shown to be effective against parasitic plants and is also less toxic than other herbicides. However, it can cause environmental pollution by inhibiting lipid biosynthesis in plants and may result in resistant mutants. Cyclosulfamuron has synergistic effects with 2,4-D on resistant weeds and can be used as a terminal residue on crops to control the growth rate. Cyclosulfamuron also has synergistic interactions with atrazine, paraquat, and picloram to kill weeds.
