Descrizione:PF-02413873 is a selective and potent inhibitor of the mineralocorticoid receptor. It reduces the production of low-density lipoproteins and inhibits atherosclerosis in vitro. PF-02413873 has also shown to be effective against endometriosis, which is caused by high levels of estrogen. This drug binds to the mineralocorticoid receptor on cells, preventing it from binding to messenger RNA, thus preventing protein synthesis and cell division. PF-02413873 inhibits the production of low-density lipoprotein by inhibiting cholesterol uptake in hepatocytes and by preventing cholesterol esterification in the liver.
