Descrizione:Murrangatin is a natural anxiolytic drug that is isolated from the Australian shrub, Elaeocarpus sphaericus. Murrangatin has been shown to inhibit tumor growth and angiogenesis induced by murralongin. Murrangatin may also be used in the treatment of other cancers such as prostate cancer. The mechanism by which it inhibits angiogenesis is not yet known, but it may be related to its anti-angiogenic effects on endothelial cells or its ability to inhibit the synthesis of fatty acids. Murrangatin also inhibits the production of nitric oxide, an important mediator of inflammation and tumor cell proliferation. This molecule interacts with extracellular proteins and antiviral proteins, inhibiting virus replication. It also has a molecular modelling activity that can inhibit elongata and indole alkaloid production in plants.
