Descrizione

Flavokawain C is a cytostatic natural product that inhibits the activity of mitochondrial enzymes. It has been shown to induce apoptosis in some cancer cells and to have minimal toxicity in vitro and in vivo. Flavokawain C induces apoptosis by inhibiting protein synthesis, leading to the accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the mitochondria and activating caspases. Flavokawain C also has immunomodulatory effects, which may be due to its ability to inhibit NF-κB, a transcription factor involved in inflammation.
