Descrizione

Geranyl b-D-glucoside is a supramolecular amphiphile that can be used as a biofuel. It is made up of two molecules: geranyl and glucose. Geranyl b-D-glucoside has been shown to form micelles in water with the help of ions, which are complex aggregates of many molecules that have a hydrophobic interior and hydrophilic exterior. The micelles are able to stabilize the fuel and protect it from degradation by sunlight or other environmental factors. The thermodynamics of the system can be quantified through the parameters of this supramolecular amphiphile, which will allow for predictive modelling.
