Descrizione:L-371,257 is a novel and potent oxytocin receptor antagonist. It prevents the activation of the oxytocin receptor by binding to it, thereby blocking the effects of oxytocin on the heart and other organs. L-371,257 has been shown to have a protective effect in animal models of cardiac hypertrophy and heart failure. In humans, L-371,257 has been shown to inhibit ventricular myocyte apoptosis induced by all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) or beta-adrenergic stimulation. L-371,257 also prevents atosiban-induced pancreatic dysfunction in mice.L-371,257 is a compound that belongs to a class of drugs called antagonists that are used in scientific research for studying receptor activity. The drug binds reversibly to the target receptor and blocks its activity temporarily. This drug can be administered orally and has an analytical method using high performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection at 254 nm.
