ATN 161 is a small molecule with anti-cancer properties. It binds to the Mcl-1 protein and inhibits its ability to bind to the integrin receptor, which is required for metastasis. ATN 161 has been shown to be active in animal models of metastatic colorectal cancer and solid tumours, as well as against breast cancer cells. ATN 161 also inhibits metabolic disorders such as bowel disease and polymerase chain reactions that are associated with tumour progression. The drug has been evaluated in vivo in a model of bowel disease and was found to have significant therapeutic effects.
