Descrizione

Morroniside is a natural product that has been shown to have a hypoglycemic effect. Morroniside inhibits the oxidative injury and apoptosis pathway in neurons, which may be due to its ability to stimulate Bcl-2 protein synthesis. Morroniside also has synergic effects with other anti-inflammatory drugs such as corticosteroids and aspirin. The mechanism of action for morroniside is not yet fully understood, but it is thought that it may work by activating toll-like receptors on macrophages, which leads to an increased production of nitric oxide and prostaglandins. Morroniside can be prepared using preparative high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and biological sample preparation methods.
