MCB-613 is a novel chemotherapeutic agent that targets the primary tumor by interfering with the physiological function of macrophages. This drug inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-1β and IL-6, which are important for cancer progression. MCB-613 also has anti-proliferative effects in cells, including inhibition of cell cycle progression at G2/M phase and induction of apoptosis. This drug may be useful in the treatment of cancers such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, and lung cancer.
