Descrizione:Indium tribromide is a reactive organometallic compound that reacts with amines to form pyrrole, which reacts with hydroxy-substituted aromatic rings to produce epoxides. The reaction mechanism of indium tribromide is still not fully understood. Indium tribromide is used in the synthesis of anticancer drugs such as paclitaxel, docetaxel and vinorelbine. It has been shown that indium tribromide can react with a hydroxyl group or an epoxide to produce a reactive intermediate that can then be used in the Friedel-Crafts reaction. This process has been used for the synthesis of compounds such as daunorubicin, doxorubicin, and vincristine.
