Descrizione:ERK5-IN-2 is a potent inhibitor of ERK5, a mitogen activated protein kinase involved in the regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation and survival. ERK5-IN-2 has been shown to inhibit tumour growth in vivo and to be safe in preclinical studies. The drug has also been shown to have anti-cancer activity by inhibiting cancer cell proliferation, inducing apoptosis and inhibiting the invasion of cancer cells. It is hoped that this compound will be able to selectively target tumour cells without harming healthy tissues.br>
ERK5-IN-2 inhibits the signalling pathway of ERK5 at the level of transcriptional control by binding to a phosphorylated serine residue on the N-terminus domain of ERK5. This inhibition leads to decreased production of proteins involved in cell proliferation and survival such as cyclin D1, Bcl2 and survivin.
