Descrizione

2-Chloropurine is an organic compound that is a purine analog and a prodrug of 6-mercaptopurine. It has shown to be effective in the treatment of various types of cancer, including leukemia and polycystic ovarian syndrome. 2-Chloropurine is metabolized by hydrolysis to 6-mercaptopurine, which can then be converted into thioguanine nucleotide (TGN) by the action of hydroxide solution. TGN can react with adenine nucleotide to form guanine nucleotide (GMP). 2-Chloropurine has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects and may be used as a therapeutic agent for inflammatory diseases such as bladder inflammation.
