Alepterolic acid is a diterpene that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It also has antiviral properties and can be used as a medicine for liver disease. Alepterolic acid inhibits serine proteases, which are enzymes that regulate protein turnover, by binding to the active site and blocking its activity. Alepterolic acid is also involved in mitochondrial membrane potential and efficient method for synthesizing amides.
