14-Deoxycoleon U is a chemical compound that has been shown to induce apoptosis in HL-60 cells. It also induces autophagy, which is a process of cellular self-eating. 14-Deoxycoleon U does not bind to the cell membrane and does not interfere with the action of other chemotherapeutic agents. This chemical compound has cytotoxic effects on cancer cells, including staphylococcus and k562 cells. The cytotoxic effect of 14-Deoxycoleon U is due to its pro-apoptotic protein; it has no effect on healthy cells because they do not have this protein. 14-Deoxycoleon U can be used as a dietary supplement for cancer treatment.
