Descrizione:CGP 48664A is a polyamine analog that selectively inhibits the activity of two enzymes, ornithine decarboxylase and orotate phosphoribosyltransferase. It has been shown to have potent antitumor activity against solid tumours in mice, including metastatic colorectal cancer, and it has also shown to have potent anti-infectious effects against infectious diseases such as malaria. CGP 48664A has been shown to inhibit the growth of carcinoma cells in cell culture. CGP 48664A has been found to be highly selective for inhibiting the enzyme ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) and orotate phosphoribosyltransferase (OPRT), which are involved in polyamine biosynthesis.
