• Descrizione: Thymidylyl-3'-5'-thymidine ammonium is a cytotoxic drug that belongs to the class of thymidylate synthase inhibitors. It inhibits enzymes responsible for DNA synthesis and repair by binding to the active site of these enzymes and forming covalent bonds with amino acid residues. Thymidylyl-3'-5'-thymidine ammonium can be used as a therapeutic agent in radiation therapy because it is more effective than other drugs at inhibiting cell growth. Thymidylyl-3'-5'-thymidine ammonium has been shown to inhibit the activity of carcinogenic compounds, such as benzo[a]pyrene and benzene, in a model system. Thymidylyl-3'-5'-thymidine ammonium also has the ability to form covalent bonds with dna duplexes and change their conformational properties.
