Kaempferol 3-O-gentiobioside is a flavonoid glycoside that is found in ethanol extracts of the roots and rhizomes of meconopsis grandis. It has been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines, including interleukin-1β, tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα), and IL-6 in microglia cells. This compound was also shown to have an inhibitory effect on vitexin synthase activity and flavonol synthesis. Kaempferol 3-O-gentiobioside may be useful for preventing cancer or other inflammatory disorders.
