Rebaudioside B is a non-caloric artificial sweetener that is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It has been shown to promote the growth of probiotic bacteria in the intestines after oral administration, which can help to maintain a healthy gut environment. Rebaudioside B is also used as an analytical reagent for measuring acidity and for determining molecular weights. This compound has two ester linkages between its sugar residues and one hydroxyl group on each sugar residue.
