Descrizione:3-Epi-isocucurbitacin B is a bioactive compound that has been found to have lipid-lowering effects in mice. It also has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activities, as well as an ability to inhibit proliferation of human cancer cells. This compound binds to the fatty acid transporter protein, which is a signal transducer for uptake of fatty acids into the cell. The mechanism by which 3-epi-isocucurbitacin B inhibits cancer cell proliferation is not yet known, but it may be related to its ability to inhibit uptake of lipids into the cell.
