Descrizione:N1,N1-bis(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine is a fluorophore that has been used in animal experiments to measure the pH of various fluids. It is also a photoacid and can be used as a fluorescent probe for acidic compounds. This compound has high concentrations in acidic environments and is insensitive to changes in pH, temperature, or concentration. N1,N1-bis(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine has structural isomers (two different shapes). The one with the hydroxyl group on the nitrogen atom fluoresces greenish yellow under ultraviolet light and the one without it fluoresces red.
