Loxoprofen is a high-melting polymorph of loxoprofen, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Loxoprofen is used for the relief of pain and inflammation in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. It has been shown to be useful as an intermediate in the synthesis of other compounds, such as pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and dyes. Loxoprofen has also been found to be a useful building block in organic synthesis reactions that require high quality reagents.
