• Descrizione: 4,4'-Dimethoxy-trans-stilbene is a synthetic estrogen that has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of human breast cancer cells. It also inhibits estrogens from binding to the androstane receptor, which may contribute to its antiproliferative effects. 4,4'-Dimethoxy-trans-stilbene has been shown to be effective in animal models of prostate cancer and breast cancer. In addition, it is thought to have a role in the prevention or treatment of symptoms associated with menopause due to its ability to inhibit the constitutive androstane receptor. 4,4'-Dimethoxy-trans-stilbene is metabolized by fatty acid conjugation and excreted into urine as metabolites. This compound is also used for synthesis of other estrogens such as ethinylestradiol and estrone sulfate.
