Quilseconazole is an antifungal agent that belongs to the group of azoles. It is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed in vivo to itraconazole, its active form. Quilseconazole inhibits the growth of fungi by inhibiting sterol C14-demethylase and blocking the synthesis of ergosterol, which is essential for cellular membranes.
