Dihydroniloticin is a natural product that has been reported to have activity against endothelial cells. It was identified as an acidic compound with a molecular mass of 238.4 g/mol and a hydroxy group in the molecule. Dihydroniloticin has insecticidal properties and can be used for pest control, but it is also used as a medicine combination for treatment of diabetes mellitus type 2. The biosynthesis of dihydroniloticin in plants is not well understood, but it may be derived from the plant family Meliaceae.
