• Descrizione: 2-Me-D-Trp-OH is a cyclic peptide that contains the amino acids D-phenylalanine, L-tryptophan and L-lysine. It is synthesized by the condensation of two molecules of lysine with one molecule of D-phenylalanine and one molecule of L-tryptophan. This reaction occurs in the presence of a base such as pyridine or triethylamine. 2-Me-D-Trp-OH has shown to have antimicrobial properties against Gram negative bacteria, but not against Gram positive bacteria. The mechanism behind these antimicrobial effects is not well understood.
