• Descrizione: The ethylene terephthalate cyclic pentamer is a polyester that is used in the manufacture of polyester fibers and polyester films. It is extracted from the raw material, which is a mixture of dimethyl terephthalate, ethylene glycol, and 1,4-butanediol. The extruder heats the raw material to 240°C in order to convert it into its liquid form. The crystallization process takes place at room temperature and produces a white solid product called oligomer. Extraction removes impurities from the oligomer by washing it with water. Linear polyester is obtained by heating the purified oligomer at 260°C for 40 minutes, while extruded polyester undergoes a heat treatment of 230°C for 20 minutes. Extrusion produces pellets that are then processed into filaments or sheets.
