It also shows high solubility in organic solvents and can be used as a solvent for other organic reactions. 3,6-Dihydroxybenzonorbornane can be prepared by cyclodehydration reaction between potassium carbonate and nitroalkanes. This process is carried out at temperatures ranging from 80°C to 250°C in an alkaline medium.
