Informazioni sul prodotto
Calcium methacrylate hydrate (CMAH) is a water-soluble polymer that is synthesized from the reaction of calcium hydroxide and methacrylic acid. It has high surface tension, which can be reduced by the addition of surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate. CMAH has been shown to have antimicrobial properties against bacteria and fungi, which may be due to its ability to bind to fatty acids on the surface of microorganisms. This binding disrupts the cell membrane and decreases bacterial growth. This material also has a synergistic effect with trifluoroacetic acid in inhibiting the growth of bacteria, such as Escherichia coli. The mechanism for this effect is not known but may be related to its ability to bind metal hydroxides or hydrogen ions in solution.
