Descrizione:(4-Bromophenyl)phosphonic acid is a structural analogue of phosphinic acid, which is a proton acceptor. The compound has been shown to be an efficient proton acceptor that is able to compete with aromatic halides at the active site of escherichia coli phosphatase. (4-Bromophenyl)phosphonic acid also appears to have a high degree of efficiency in its ability to act as a proton donor and acceptor. This property was determined using kinetic studies in which the rate of hydrolysis of 4-bromophenylphosphonate was determined by measuring the concentration of p-nitrophenol released from 4-bromophenylphosphonate.
