Mes hydrate is an analytical reagent that is used to measure the amount of soluble carbohydrates in plant extracts. It is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the sugars, which are then detected using a fluorescence probe. Mes hydrate has been shown to be more effective than other methods for measuring soluble carbohydrate content and can be used as a model system for understanding cellular metabolism. Mes hydrate has also been used to study cancer cell viability and infectious diseases, as well as model organisms such as bacteria and yeast. The potential of mes hydrate for use in autoimmune diseases has not yet been studied.
