Descrizione:5-Heptadecylresorcinol (5-HR) is a naturally occurring chemical compound that has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the growth of microsporum and mentagrophytes. It also has been shown to inhibit the growth of methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus, leishmania, and trichophyton mentagrophytes. 5-HR inhibits fibroblast growth and lysis by binding to the lipid bilayer of the cell membrane. This leads to a disruption in the membrane potential, which eventually causes cell death.
