Descrizione:Cyclink is a peptide that has been used as a research tool to study protein interactions. Cyclink is an activator of the large conductance calcium-sensitive potassium channel, and has been used in studies on ion channels. Cyclink has also been shown to inhibit a receptor for the neurotransmitter glutamate, which is involved in synaptic plasticity and long-term potentiation. The ligand binding site of this receptor is found on the extracellular surface of the membrane. Cyclink binds to this site and inhibits ion flux through the channel by blocking its activity.
